YULI SOMME

Yuli Somme, M.A. (Textiles)

Felt making is a simple process of making fabric from wool by matting the raw fibres together. On a big scale this is done on a machine using beds of barbed needles which entangle the fibres.
The hand-making process involves water and friction.

Yuli uses both processes.

Her fibres are sourced locally from farms where the environment and the welfare of the sheep are important. Everything is designed with quality and the environment in mind.
